Khulna is the third-largest city in Bangladesh. It is the administrative seat of Khulna District and Khulna Division. The city has a population of more than 1.4 million people.
Khulna is an old river port located on the Rupsha River. It is an important hub of Bangladeshi industry and hosts many national companies. It is served by Port of Mongla, the second largest seaport in the country. It is also one of the two principal naval command centres of the Bangladesh Navy.

It is regarded as the gateway to the Sundarbans, the world’s largest tidal forest and home of the Bengal Tiger. Khulna is also situated north of the Historic Mosque City of Bagerhat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Sundarbans National Park is a National Park, Tiger Reserve, and a Biosphere Reserve located in the Sundarbans delta in the Indian state of West Bengal. Sundarbans South, East and West are three protected forests in Bangladesh. This region is densely covered by mangrove forests, and is one of the largest reserves for the Bengal tiger.

Other recommended items for the trip include dressing according to the tropical climate, comfortable walking shoes or boots with rubber soles, sufficient drinking water, insect repellent, a medical kit, anti-diarrhea medication and anit-malarial medication is also suggested.
From Karamjol, guided tours of the Sundarban Wildlife Sanctuary can be arranged. In the year 1966, the 38 500 square kilometers of Sundarban was declared a wildlife sanctuary and, therefore, hunting in this area is strictly prohibited and illegal. The preservation and conservation of rare and endangered species, such as the Royal Bengal Tigers, are the primary concern of this national park. Sundarban is proud of the fact that they now have an estimated four hundred Royal Bengal Tigers that live in peace within the sanctuary and the spotted deer population has risen to approximately thirty thousand individuals.

Shat Gambuj Mosque
In mid-15th century, a Muslim colony was founded in the inhospitable mangrove forest of the Sundarbans near the seacoast in the Bagerhat district by an obscuresaint-General, named Ulugh Khan Jahan. He was the earliest torch bearer of Islam in the South who laid the nucleus of an affluent city during the reign of Sultan Nasiruddin Mahmud Shah (1442-59), then known as ‘Khalifalabad’ (present Bagerhat). Khan Jahan aborned his city with numerous mosques, tanks, roads and other public buildings, the spectacular ruins of which are focused around the most imposing and largest multidomed mosques in Bangladesh, known as the Shait-Gumbad Masjid (160’X108'). The stately fabric of the monument, serene and imposing, stands on the eastern bank of an unusually vast sweet-water tank, clustered around by the heavy foliage of a low-laying countryside, characteristic of a sea-coast landscape. So in the year 1459 the great Azam Ulugh Khan Jahan established this mosque, which called Shat Gambuj Mosjid.
Shat Gombuj Mosque – Bagerhat The general appearance of this noble monument with its stark simplicity but massive character reflects the strength and simplicity of the builder. This mosque is 160 ft long and 108 ft. in its width. This is one of the most beautiful archeological and historical Mosque in Bangladesh made by red burn mud.
The archeological beauty of this Mosque enchants the tourist till now. Besides this Mosque an archeological museum is there where you can find that times archeological and historical materials.
It is the second largest seaport of Bangladesh.in Bangladesh Economy Mongla Port plays a vital role. There are a good number of prawn hatcheries in Mongla.
